International WINS on Roulette
... a Fantast son!
Roulette is a Canadian bred horse that had an outstanding season
on the European and North American circuit in 98. This combination
of horse and rider had outstanding results in the spring of
1997 at Spruce Meadows. Numerous wins at P2. Roulette has been
stepped up to 1.5 M in Dec. and he had a second at Maasrtick
Holland. A win in Frankfurt, and a third in Hanover. He was
stepped up again to the Grand Prix in Feb.1998 and won his first
grand Prix in Denmark in a 52 horse field. A fine start for
this young 9 year old gelding. Roulette is in a coownership,
Ian and a very lucky client in Az.
Roulette is by Fantast ( a paternal half brother of Big Ben)
and out of a Zider Zee mare. Bred by P. Karnief.
They came back in Canada in fine style. Ian and Roulette placed
in 4 classes in the international ring at the 1998 Masters.
Placing well in the Welcome, Power and Speed. The Royal was
a super 1998 finish for this new partnership. A gold for Canada
in the Team competition (2 double clears) and 3rd in the Big
Ben Challenge.(a clear and 4 faults with the fastest time) It
was only fitting that they both tried so hard; for Roulette
(Ben is his uncle) for Ian; a past partner that won much glory.
Ian and
Roulette had another 2 good seasons. He is now competeing for
another owner in the USA.
