The
farm of Jennette and Mara Coote is located one hour north of Calgary
and thirty minutes from the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.
Since
1976 we have been raising Winning, Athletic, Sound Horses
with Good Temperaments for the OLYMPIC disciplines for the
Junior and Amateur market.
We
run a Stallion Station, foal nursery, and pasture boarding, training
and a lesson facility all in Ranch Style Management.

mare Sophia/Goodtimes/ Nimmerdor (Alberta Champion Mare 2003)

2009 Update: Late spring brought us 5 beautiful fillies all
by Whirlwind 11. In the Alberta Southern Futurity we entered 2
and they went 1st and 3rd. MJ Make Waves also went Junior Champion
of the show. We have shown very little this year as 4 of our students
won the right to represent Canada in the young breeder championships
in Ireland in July. Our show season started in Aug. with MJ Saffron
in the baby green ring. She was in the ribbons in almost every
class she was entered. She is ready to step on to and hit the
hunter circuit.
The
other young horse that saw some shows was MJ Playstation. He has
added to his outstanding 2 year old National Championship in Sport
Horse with multiple top 5's Reserve Regional Championships and
a top 10 at the Canadian Nationals Futurity at halter. Lorne and
Brenda had a very good show year. He is now at our home and will
start his under saddle training. We all see a very big show career
in his future. Both his half brothers MJ Communicator and Newt
have had fabulous years in the open and Arabian dressage rings.
Newt and Christine Wong have won BC open dressage champioships
and Region 17 dressage chanpionships. They are now working at
4 th level. Commie (called Scobbie now) is very successful in
the California circuit with great placing and scores for Laura
and her trainer at 3rd level.
Our
long term clients have had a very good year with their breeding
programs using our bloodlines. Tammy Fulton and her 2 MJ Fusion
fillies earned premiums in the breed classes and 1 in the riding
test with the international judging group. Shirley Englands' mares
Spring Fling , and Summer Solstice went 1st premium, offspring
of her owned and leased Fantast broodmares.( Both these mares
have new owners and were purchased at the Canadian Warmblood Fall
Classic Sale last year) Marie Aresualt from Quebec City has had
her MJ offspring win at the Provincial level in the dressage training
level ( see picture) Cassandra and MJ Simply Glorious had a hunter
division championship and the mare now is in foal to Whirlwind.
Fall
2008 Update. More exciting news. Whirlwind is continuing with
his winning ways. Winner of the Canadian Performance Futurity
Prairie division in: Jumper and 2nd in Dressage,and
hunter divisions. A strong 3rd finish in the young jumper development
series final. We are very pleased with his steady progress at
all the disciplines we ask of him. Rodney Tulluck and his team
at Landmark
Stables have done a terrific job of development
and care of this young stallion. His offspring also are doing
well in the CWHBA futurities. MJ Esparanza by Whirlwind out of
MJ Evtia placed second in a tough class in the southern futurity.
Our
junior riders riding their MJ horses have had very good show seasons.
We congratulate MJ Gypsy and Laura Iverson on placing at Spruce
Meadows. Wins for Darcia and MJ Bandaros(3rd in
Canadian Performance Futurity Prairie all divisions),
and Cassandra and MJ Simply Glorious in the AHHS + ASJA circuits.
MJ
Beckham won the Pacific Dressage Division of the Canadian Performance
Futurity 4 year old.
MJ Argentina won Prairie Hunter Division
of the Canadian Performance Futurity 4 year old.
We are also excited to return to the Arabian Sport Horse ring
with another National Champion MJ Playstation -- 2 year old (
coowned with Lorne Robertson and very well shown by Brenda D)

2007 Results: MJ Farms broodmares were honoured at the
CWHBA ANNUAL Convention. 2 elite mare awards and 4 production
performance awards.
